Cruz Azul and Toluca draw in first leg

[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] The first leg of the 2014 Concacaf Champions final between Cruz Azul and Toluca ended in a 0-0 draw.

Antonio Rios came close to pulling out the win for the visiting Rojos Diablos, but his shot hit the Cruz Azul post in the 87th minute.

Cruz Azul was playing without goalie Jesus Corona, who was red carded in the second leg of the semifinals against Tijuana but had his suspension extended two more games by Concacaf on Tuesday.

A pair of California-born players, Miguel Ponce and Isaac Brizuela, both Mexican World Cup hopefuls start for Toluca.

Toluca hosts the second game on April 23 at the Estadio Nemesio Diez, also known as La Bombonera.
