[AMERICANS ABROAD] Emerson Hyndman
, the grandson of former SMU and FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman
, scored the winning goal for Fulham in its 3-2 win over Chelsea in the first leg of the English FA Youth Cup final at Craven Cottage.
All the goals came in
the second half as Moussa Dembele
, Hyndman and Cameron Burgess
scored in succession for Fulham after Jay Dasilva
put Chelsea ahead. Charly Musonda
scored a critical second goal for the visitors late in the game to the
disappointment of the crowd of 4,457 fans on hand for the West London derby. Dembele had missed a penalty kick in the first half.
Hyndman's goal came in the 71st minute when his shot
deflected off Danish defender Andreas Christensen
In July 2013, Hyndman signed a new contract with Fulham that will keep him at the English club
until June 2016. The 18-year old midfielder was part of Fulham's under-18 team that won back-to-back Barclays Premier League championships last season. He joined Fulham in 2011.
