Texas A&M's Guerrieri granted contract extension

[COLLEGE WOMEN] Texas A&M women's head coach G Guerrieri, the 2013 SEC Coach of the Year, has been granted a three-year extension of his current contract that will keep him in College Station through 2019. Under his tutelage, Texas A&M is one of only five teams to play in every NCAA Tournament the last 19 seasons.

Guerrieri guided Texas A&M to a share of the regular-season title and a conference tournament crown in the Aggies’ second campaign in the SEC.

“Under Coach G’s leadership, Texas A&M entered the SEC and has immediately battled for championships,” said Director of Athletics Eric Hyman in a statement. “G’s career accomplishments are simply outstanding, and he has been extremely successful in maintaining excellence on the field, graduating his student-athletes and engaging our local community.”

Guerrieri ranks sixth all-time among NCAA Division I coaches with 372 wins and a .748 winning percentage. The Aggies have posted 10 consecutive 15-win seasons. They rank seventh in NCAA Division I in wins since 2000 with 240.

“I’ve been blessed to be the soccer coach at Texas A&M,” Guerrieri said. “I am very proud of our incredible student-soccer players and to work alongside such a gifted group of coaches, professionals, and educators on my staff."
