Former SLU star Ibisevic named to Bosnia squad

Ibisevic, who plays at VfB Stuttgart, moved to St. Louis when he was 16 and attended Roosevelt High School in St. Louis. After one season at SLU, he moved to Paris St. Germain and then on to Dijon, Alemannia Aachen, Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart. He has scored 97 goals in his pro career.
Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is making its first appearance at a major tournament as an independent nation, will play in St. Louis May 30 against Ivory Coast and in Chicago June 3 against Mexico before heading to Brazil.
Susic will only have to cut one player from his training squad, having chosen not to go with the full allotment of 30 players on his short list. The extra player was necessary because of concerns about Mensur Mujdza's foot injury.
"Only the players who are regular starters at their clubs could expect a call-up," he said, "and having a compact unit such as this one is essential for a good atmosphere in the locker room."
