USA and France renew rivalry in June

[DATEBOOK] The U.S. women's national team will renew its rivalry with France when it hosts the Bleues in a pair of summer friendlies on June 14 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., and June 19 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. Both matches kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ussoccer.com.

The USA is 13-0-1 all-time against France, but the teams have played two memorable matches in recent years. The Americans prevailed, 3-1, in the semifinals of the 2011 Women's World Cup in Germany. The USA and France have not met since the opening match of the 2012 Olympics when the USA overcame a 2-0 deficit after 14 minutes to win 4-2 on its way to winning the gold medal.

France, fourth in the latest FIFA Women's World Rankings, went unbeaten at last summer's UEFA Women's Championships but was upset on penalty kicks in the quarterfinal round by Denmark. The setback prompted a change in coaches as Bruno Blini was replaced by former national team keeper Philippe Bergeroo.

France has won all four games in 2015 Women's World Cup qualifying to date by a 31-1 margin.
