Ronaldo: Group G "the Strongest" at the World Cup

In an interview with Brazilian TV channel SporTV, Cristiano Ronaldo sounded off on Portugal’s tough group at this summer’s World Cup. When asked about his country’s chances of becoming world champion, the Portugal captain pointed out that his team has landed in one of the tournament’s most difficult groups, Group G, alongside Germany, Ghana and the USA.

"We are not favorites, but we will go and try to enjoy ourselves," the Real Madrid forward said. "We know we have a difficult group phase, in my opinion the strongest in the World Cup, but we will go step by step. We have an important game against the Germans in the first game, and then we must play Ghana and the United States to get through the group. Then we will see."
