Al Fayed Blames Fulham's Relegation on Michael Jackson Statue Removal

Former Fulham owner Mohamed Al Fayed said that Fulham was relegated from the Premier League this season due to the removal of his Michael Jackson statue last November. When Shad Khan bought the club last year, he immediately sought to have the 7ft 6in statue removed. Al Fayed, who was speaking as he formally presented the statue of the late singer to the National Football Museum in Manchester, remarked that this is probably what got the club relegated.
