Ft. Lauderdale moves into tie for first place

[NASL: Week 5] The Fort Lauderdale Strikers moved into a tie for first place with unbeaten and untied Minnesota United FC when they hammered the Atlanta Silverbacks, 4-0, on Saturday night.

Martin Nunez put the Strikers ahead in the 23rd minute, and they put the game away on goals by midfielder Mark Anderson, Carlos Salazar and Fafa Picault after the break. The last two goals came after substitute midfielder Alex Harlley was shown a straight red card in the 73rd minute.

San Antonio moved into third place with a 3-0 win over Carolina on goals by Eric Hassli, Danny Barrera and Tomasz Zahorski.

In a battle of the NASL's only winless teams, FC Edmonton won, 2-1, at Indy Eleven to drop the expansion team into the cellar.
