UCL Miss to Cost Man United $50 million

Manchester United vice chairman Ed Woodward confirmed that missing out on the UEFA Champions League next season would result in a revenue shortfall of more than 30 million pounds ($50.3 million). He also confirmed that firing David Moyes would amount to a figure in the “single-digit million pounds.” Moyes was fired in April despite signing a six-year contract with the Old Trafford club. Separately, United reported record revenues for the third quarter of the financial year on Thursday, up 26 percent to 115.5 million ($194 million) pounds.
