Crystal Palace joins EPL fleet bound for U.S.

[DATEBOOK] Crystal Palace became the ninth team in the 2013-14 English Premier League to announce plans to tour the United States during the summer with games against MLS's Columbus Crew and Philadelphia Union as well as USL PRO's Richmond Kickers.

Palace, one of the surprises of the EPL season, will play at Crew Stadium on July 23 and then face the Union two days later at PPL Park. Its tour concludes against the Kickers on July 28.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool will play in the Guinness International Champions Cup and play other exhibitions in the United States. Arsenal will make its first appearance in the United States since 1989, while Aston Villa, Swansea City, Tottenham and relegated Fulham will also play games.

The only top four EPL club not touring will be Chelsea. The Blues have been a fixture on the U.S. summer circuit, but their manager, Jose Mourinho, who loves training in the United States, decided that the short window between the end of the World Cup and start of the new season was too short to warrant a trip to the United States.
