Man United's Giggs, Winner of 34 Major Trophies, Retires

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs on Monday announced his retirement as a professional soccer player after he was named assistant to incoming Red Devils coach Louis van Gaal next season. Giggs spent his entire 23-year career at United, winning 34 major trophies, including 13 Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions League titles, en route to appearing a record 963 times for the club. Giggs, 40, made his debut for United as a 17-year-old in 1990.
