U.S. under-20 women's national team roster

[FRANCE TRIP] The U.S. under-20 women’s national team will travel to northwest France for two matches against highly regarded France on June 10 in Plabennec and June 13 in Plougastel as it continues preparations for the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada in August. Three high school players have joined the team for what will be its last full international matches before the finals.

Michelle French's roster features 17 players from the squad that won the Concacaf championship last January in the Cayman Islands. Additionally, 16-year-old Mallory Pugh, defender Kaleigh Riehl, a rising senior, and Tennessee-bound midfielder Carlyn Baldwin have joined the team. The only high school player on the team in qualifying was star defender Andi Sullivan, who will attend Stanford.

Both Riehl and Baldwin play for Braddock Road Youth Club whose alumnae list includes Mia Hamm, U.S. women's national team coach Jill Ellis and UCLA coach Amanda Cromwell.

“The chance to play against one of the top U-20 teams in the world prior to the World Cup is an incredible opportunity,” said French in a statement. “The experience and knowledge we’ll gain from these two games against France will push us to sharpen our focus and drive even more as we continue to grow as a team in these final stages of preparation for the World Cup.”

The U-20 roster includes French-based Lindsey Horan, who has scored 20 goals in 21 international matches at the U-20 level and 29 goals in 36 games in two seasons for Paris St. Germain.
