[VIDEO PICK: Golazos] A sampling
Landon Donovan's greatest goals on the way to becoming MLS's all-time leading scorer includes left-footed and
right-footed strikes, volleys, breakaways and a diving header set up by
David Beckham. Donovan, who after Sunday's two strikes against Philadelphia, has scored 136 goals, started the
run at age 19 in 2001.
Donovan broke
Jeff Cunningham's record of 134. The Jamaica-born Cunningham scored his goals in 365 games over 14 seasons (1998-2012). Donovan
reached the record-breaking mark in 307 regular-season games. He also holds the MLS playoff record with 22 goals and is second in all-time assists with 120.
MLSSoccer.com, in the 3-minute
video, selects 13 of Donovan's greatest goals through 2013.
I am from Austria, so I have followed the things JK has done with Bayern and the German team. A lot of talking but he won nothing at the end. JK failed two times in Germany, because he is ridiculous and has no clue. He thinks a 19 year old, who played in a second team in Germany, has 1 cap, is better than LD who scored 57 goals in international games, who played sucessfull in the Premierleague. He is to stupid to know how to use him. LD has to play behind a striker like Robbie Keane and not up in front. He is more play maker, but still can score safely coming from behind and without fighting two defenders in the back. The ball is his strengths and he is the most gifted player by far the U.S. had and still has. Thank you Klinsmann Junior, because of you we know it was a personal issue! Because of this JK should get fired, because he is not looking for the best for the National Team, his personal issues are more important!
oh Jeez.....Enough with the Drama & especially the prejudice & stick a fork in LD, he's done already. Congrats on the milestone goal Vs Philly. I like the Philly team & hope they can improve on their 2 wins so far, Oh & sweet pass from Keane as well. GO USA!
