Japan captures AFC Women's Asian Cup

[WOMEN'S WORLD CUP 2015: Qualifying] Japan, the defending Women's World Cup champion, won the AFC Women's Asian Cup with a 1-0 win over Australia in the final before 10,000 fans in Ho Chi Minh City. They will be joined by China, South Korea and Thailand in next year's expanded Women's World Cup.

Azusa Iwashimizu scored the game's lone goal in the 28th minute. Japan captain Aya Miyama was named the tournament's best player, and South Korea's Park Eun-sun was the top scorer with six goals in five games.

Japan started Seattle Reign star Nahomi Kawasumi, while Australia's Matildas featured seven NWSL players.
