Lampard Says Goodbye to Chelsea

Frank Lampard on Monday announced that he will be leaving Chelsea after 13 years with the club. Since joining from West Ham in 2001, Lampard has won 11 major trophies with the Blues, including three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the UEFA Champions League in 2012. Chelsea’s all-time top scorer with 211 goals, Lampard is also third in the club’s list of all-time appearances, with 648.

"When I arrived at this fantastic club 13 years ago, I would never have believed that I would be fortunate enough to play so many games and enjoy sharing in so much success," Lampard said. "The club will move forward and, as a Chelsea man, I have no doubt that, with the quality of the players that are there, they will continue with the success that we have all enjoyed over the past seasons."

Reports in England claim that Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho is targeting Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas as a potential replacement for the departing Lampard, who is rumored to be joining New York City FC in MLS.
