What They're Saying: Sunil Gulati

“Someone once told me that in 2006, they described Jurgen as the CEO of Project German National Team. He oversaw all of it, everything. And that’s what we wanted here. This isn’t the proverbial sprint; it’s a marathon. Actually, it’s a couple of them.”

-- U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati on giving Klinsmann wide latitude in dictating the direction of the national team and American soccer as national team coach and technical director. (New York Times)

What needs to happen here is Jurgen and myself need to sit down and "adjust" the Youth structure within every State association and that means Academies also. Also, need to take him to all the inner city non affiliated leagues around the country. Then educate him on the economics of Youth Soccer in America. From there we go to US Soccer, MLS, NASL and USL and create "1." Will this happen??? Doubtful. Can it happen? Yes. The restructuring of American Soccer will be determined at the conclusion of Round 1 in Brazil. You have an entire country on your back Juergen!

Edit: Yes, I most certainly qualify.
