Ghanaian Priest Takes Credit for Ronaldo Injuries

A Ghanaian priest claims he’s behind the series of injuries ailing Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the World Cup. Ronaldo sat out last weekend’s friendly with Greece and is expected to miss the rest of Portugal’s warm-up games ahead of its Group G opener against Germany on June 16.

Last year, Ghanaian priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam predicted that Ronaldo would miss the tournament shortly after his country was drawn into a group with Portugal, the USA and Germany. Sure enough, the Real Madrid forward has been diagnosed with tendinitis in his left knee as well as a left thigh strain.

Bonsam is taking all the credit. “I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him,” Bonsam - whose name translates to "Devil of Wednesday" in English - told a local radio station. “This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else,” said, adding:
“I am very serious about it.”
