Italian senator in hot water over vulgar tweet

[WORLD CUP: Off the Post] Some sections of the Italian media are calling on Maurizio Gasparri, the vice president of the Italian senate, to resign for a vulgar tweet directed at the English following Italy's 2-1 win over England on Saturday.

The center-right politician -- a former minister for communications (!) under former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi -- tweeted: "It’s always a pleasure to say 'go ... themselves' to the English ... pretentious and pricks,” the Guardian reported.

In response to criticism and calls to resign, Gasparri tweeted, "Detestable English, is that OK?”
