Chilean fans tried to charge into Maracana Stadium via its media center, breaking through fences and security barriers, before police
caught up and detained 85 of them.
They toppled two temporary walls in the media center and knocked over at least four big-screen TVs about an hour before the kickoff of Chile's 2-0 win
"Ahead of the Spain versus Chile match at the Maracana a group of individuals without tickets violently forced entry into the stadium, breaking fences and overrunning
security," FIFA and Brazil's organizing committee said in a statement. "They were contained by the security and did not make it to the seats."
