Monchengladbach Player Takes Third in Poker World Series

Borussia Monchengladbach forward Max Kruse, a surprise omission from Germany’s World Cup squad, on Wednesday reached the final table at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, ultimately finishing third in his event and winning 26,900 euros ($36,000).  Kruse scored 12 goals and created just as many last season, helping his team qualify for the Europa League, but, according to Bild, he failed to make Joachim Low’s squad due to disciplinary reasons.
