Lionel Messi has settled with Spanish tax authorities by forking out a whopping 32.9 million euros ($44.7 million) for failing to pay taxes related to his image rights between 2007 and 2009.Messi has now voluntarily made an additional tax declaration for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012. The Barcelona striker was acquitted of fraud last week as the judge believed the player was unaware ofhis tax affairs and he is therefore exempt from any criminal liability, but not financial liability.
