Fans toss toffee at South Korean team

[VIDEO PICK: Off the Post] Upon arriving at Seoul's Incheon Airport from its first-round World Cup exit in Brazil, the South Korean players politely lined up for a photo only to have fans throw toffee at them – "go eat toffee" being a Korean insult.

The players, who managed only a point in the World Cup games, stood stoically as the candies fell at their feet.

South Korea coach Hong Myunbg-bo had issued an apology and took the blame for the poor performance:

“I am sorry that we weren’t able to return the love and support shown by our people during the World Cup. It was due to my deficiency as a coach that we didn’t put up the desired results.”

But that did not ward of the Korean fans’ fury:

The Korean fans who tossed the toffee, exhibited a complete lack of humanity. Unfortunately, that kind of soulless act illustrates one of the traits that paints the portrait of what is wrong with humans.

It's unfortunate that the fans could not have shown their team how proud they were that South Korea made it to the World Cup in the first place.
