Howard, Jones and Yedlin top U.S. player ratings

[BRAZIL 2014] Jurgen Klinsmann used 19 of his 23 U.S. players at the 2014 World Cup. Based on each game's Soccer America Player Ratings, Tim Howard was the highest-rated U.S. player, finishing ahead of Jermaine Jones and DeAndre Yedlin. Seven players who played in at least half of the games averaged 6.0 or higher. For all the cumulative national team player ratings.

    For the most part I agree. Dempsey had a great game aginst Ghana and Portugal, Besler was solid except against Belgium, Beckerman should have been higher rated. They disappointments were definitely Bradley for a lack of creativity, Cameron had a nightmare against Portugal, bedoya had all that experience for Nantes and rangers and just didn't perform.

    Yedlin appeared to have a great match against Belgium because he went forward all the time. In reality the huge amount of space he gave up defensively was where Belgium originated a lot of it's attack. A team that gives up 37 shots should not have two defenders rated with 8's.

    Yedlin should have been below Johnson and Beasley, but his positives (creativity & speed) were more noticeable than his negatives (as Frank pointed out, the space he left behind). Additionally, his performances were much shorter, but still impressive. Otherwise I think the ratings are accurate.
