Univision delivered its most-viewed World Cup final ever for Sunday's German-Argentina game at Rio de Janeiro's Estadio Maracana. The 9.2
million viewers were 4 percent higher than the 2010 final on Univision. Combined with the 17.3 million viewers on ABC, the Univision audience put the total TV viewers for the 2014 at 26.5 million, up
from 24.3 million four years ago for Spain-Netherlands.
Univision outdelivered its 2010 World Cup coverage by 34 percent among total viewers, 21 percent among adults 18-49 and 40 percent
among persons 2-17. It reached a record 80.9 million total viewers, up 65 percent from four years ago.
The Mexico-Netherlands game delivered the most-viewed telecast in U.S.
Spanish-language television history with with an average of 10.4 million viewers.
Univision Deportes Network, the companion network that simulcast matches, bested Fox Sports 1 by 27
percent, MLB Network by 50 percent, and NBCSN by 71 percent among total viewers in total day.
