James Rodriguez is nearly a Real Madrid player, according to reports in Spain, after Monaco accepted an offer of 70 million euros ($94.7 million) plus one player in exchange for theColombian sensation, who finished as the top scorer in the recently concluded World Cup. The reports claim that Rodriguez will sign a five-year deal, earning 7.5 million euros per year ($10 million).AS claims that the player to be included in the deal has not yet been decided: Monaco had asked for Pepe or Fabio Coentrao, but both names were swiftly denied, withCasemiro the most likely makeweight in the deal.

According to the reports, Rodriguez will replace Angel Di Maria in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup, as theArgentina international pushes for an exit after feeling under-appreciated at Real. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are in line for Di Maria, who is said to favor the latter as they are inthe UEFA Champions League for the coming season. AS adds that PSG will pay 60 million euros ($81.1 million) for Di Maria, paving the way for the arrival of Rodriguez.
