Wright-Phillips and Torres head all-star additions

[MLS ALL-STAR GAME] MLS leading scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips of the New York Red Bulls and Chivas USA's Erick Torres, third in scoring, were among the players added to the MLS All-Stars' 23-man roster for the AT&T MLS All-Star Game Aug. 6 against Bayern Munich in Portland.

Other players added by Timbers coach Caleb Porter included Jermain Defoe (Toronto FC), the only first-year player, Tim Cahill (New York Red Bulls) and Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy). The most notable omission was Sporting Kansas City's Dom Dwyer.
 
Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber named Portland midfielder Diego Valeri and Torres as his two picks.
