[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY] The LA Galaxy Academy got goals from Dylan Smith and JuanOrozco to beat 2013 champion Real Salt Lake AZ, 2-0, and win the 2014 Development Academy under-15/16 championship. It was the second U-15/16 title for the Galaxy academy and the fifth in a rowby an MLS team.

Smith broke the deadlock after  25 minutes, tapping home the rebound after defender Alex Ramos‘ shot had deflected off RealSalt Lake’s post.

In the 51st minute, Orozco collecteda ball cleared away by RSL AZ off a corner kick just inside the 18 before volleying it into the top of the net.

U.S. U-17 Elijah Rice, who hasmissed Thursday’s semifinal while serving a red card suspension, scored one goal and assisted on goals by Kendall Stork and Amit Tal to lead Chicago Magic PSG to a 3-0 win over Irvine (Calif.) Strikers FC in the U-15/16 third-place game.
