Report: Lampard Completes NYCFC Move

Former Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has completed a move to new MLS franchise New York City FC, sources tell Sporting News and other outlets. Lampard, 36, will join Spanish striker David Villa at NYCFC. Villa will go on loan to Melbourne City before the newest MLS franchise opens play in March 2015, and Lampard could possibly join him as both the American and Australian clubs are owned by Manchester City.

Lampard spent 13 years at Chelsea, where he won the Premier League three times, the FA Cup four times, and the UEFA Champions League in 2012. The central midfielder remains the club's all-time top scorer with 211 goals, having played 648 games for the Stamford Bridge club.
