Tatu's Sting, Eclipse Select and Surf crowned

[ECNL] Former indoor star Tatu coached the Dallas Sting to the U-17 Champions League title at the 2014 Elite Clubs National League Finals in Richmond, Va. Eclipse Select completed back-to-back national titles in the under-16 Champions League division, while Surf captured the under-15 Champions League title. Champions were also crowned in the North American League.

The Sting beat Eclipse Select, 1-0, in the under-17 championship game on Hannah Fernandez's goal. It had beaten GSA, the Dallas Texans and SoCal Blues by a combined margin of 12-2 to reach the final.

Eclipse Select had better luck in the under-16 division final, getting goals from Alia Martin, Lea Waddle and Marissa Bosco in a 3-1 over the Dallas Texans. Eclipse Select's only blemish at the finals was a 2-1 loss in its final group match to PDA. All four teams from Group A won their placement matches.

Surf beat PDA, 1-0, on a goal by Grace Carter to win the under-15 Champions League. The San Diego club had beaten De Anza Force and Real Colorado and tied Albertson Fury en route to the final.

The top eight teams from the ECNL Playoffs advanced to the ECNL Finals in the Champions League and North American League.

FC Bucks (U-17), Solar Chelsea (U-16) and Maryland United (U-15) were the winners of the North American League divisions.

    Isn't this "elite club" competition idea really about making money and selling the club to rich parents?
