Chattanooga FC sets record with crowd of 8,878

[NPSL] Chattanooga FC set an attendance record Saturday when 8,878 fans turned out at Finley Stadium for its 4-1 win over Sacramento Gold FC in the National Premier Soccer League semifinals.

Jason Jones opened the scoring for Sacramento with a shot from 40 yards, but it was all Chattanooga after that as it moved ahead on goals by Englishman Luke Winter and Brazilian Jose Ferraz. Luis Trude, another Brazilian, and Englishman James Moore added goals in the second half.

Chattanooga FC will meet the New York Red Bulls U-23, 2-0 winners over Lansing United, in the final.

CFC has reached the NPSL championship game twice before, losing in the 2010 and 2012 finals.

Is Volkswagen a sponsor for this Chattanooga team? I would think so. The USA VW plant is right there. Good on these fans and this team. Good of them to turn out for such an event.
