Tim Howard returns in booth

[SOCCER ON THE AIR] Tim Howard will again be spending many of his off-days as part of the NBC Sports Group’s English Premier League on-air team. The U.S. national team keeper will work up to 10 EPL games this season, serving as a game analyst in the booth or in an on-site studio for pre-game, halftime and post-game shows.

Howard worked seven games -- six as a game analyst and one in an on-site studio --  in 2013-14, his 11th season in England. He signed a contract extension that will keep him at Everton through the 2017-18 season. His agreement with NBC Sports Group is a multi-year agreement.

“Tim had an impressive debut on our telecasts last season and we are excited to have him join our Premier League team on a more extensive basis,” said Pierre Moossa, coordinating producer of NBC Sports Group's Premier League coverage, in a statement. “As an active Premier League player, he contributes unique perspective and insight to our broadcasts.”

Howard is set to begin his ninth season with Everton after starring for the USA at the World Cup.
