[NWSL: Week 16] The Seattle Reign FC
clinched the 2014 NWSL regular-season title with four games to spare thanks to its 4-1 win at Houston and FC Kansas City's 2-1 loss to Washington on Wednesday night. Scottish international
Kim Little broke the NWSL record for goals in a season when she scored two goals for the Reign to give her 14 for the season.
Little also set up
Sydney Leroux for the first goal, and
Megan Rapinoe added the fourth for the Reign, which has a 12-point lead with four games
to play. Little broke the NWSL scoring record she shared with
Lauren Holiday, who had 12 goals for FC Kansas City in 2013.
Lisa De
Vanna set up German
Kerstin Garefrekes and
Christine Nairn for second-half goals as the Spirit rallied to beat
Kansas City and move into third place, leapfrogging Portland and Chicago.
