FA Issues Head Injury Protocol for Next Season

On the heels of a World Cup that saw several players lose consciousness or suffer concussion, the English FA on Tuesday issued strict guidelines regarding head injuries for players in its leagues. The new FA document mandates that any player that suffers a confirmed loss of consciousness must be removed from the field of play and would not be allowed to return. It added further that these players would require neuro-psychological testing and not be allowed to return to action for six days after suffering a loss of consciousness or concussion.
