Fan Loans Hamburg Close to $23 Million

An HSV Hamburg fan that is not associated with the club’s board, has loaned the financially ailing Bundesliga giant 17 million euros ($22.7 million) to help fund its summer spending. Klaus-Michael Kuhne, an international transport tycoon who is worth an estimated five billion euros ($6.7 billion), will help his favorite team finance the 4.5 million euro ($6 million) transfer of Mainz attacker Nicolai Muller, among others, with the loan. Hamburg, which has already signed Valon Behrami from Napoli, can now eye more potential transfers with the cash injection.
