Hailing and Thanking LD

[SOCIAL MEDIA ROUNDUP] Landon Donovan's announcement that he will retire after this MLS season prompted an avalanche of well wishes from the soccer community, including U.S. stars past and present.

U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati called Donovan the USA’s all-time best while U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard shared photos of memorable moments with his longtime national teammate.

Goalkeeper Zac MacMath, victim of Donovan’s strike earlier this season that broke the MLS all-time scoring record, chimed in, as did former U.S. national team captain Claudio Reyna, Donovan’s teammate at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.

From the President:

What a jealous and vindictive jerk Klinsmann turned out to be, by contrast!
If Klinsmann were even 1% the man Donovan is he would resign, hide in a monastery, and ponder his stupidity...

I see the disappearance of Klinsmann these days, especially with the MLS all star game, very suspicious. I think Gulati advised him to disappear for few days until the storm passes. Probably, Gulati wanted to make this about Landon Donovan and not about Klinsmann. It's difficult to hide a huge elephant in a small room.
