Moyes: 'I wasn't Given Time to Succeed or Fail'

In an interview with the Daily Mail, former Manchester United coach David Moyes says he wasn’t given enough time “to succeed or fail” as head coach of the Red Devils. During the lengthy interview, Moyes talks about how the club was close to signing a number of big names, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Cesc Fabregas, but in the end, none of the deals materialized. The former Everton boss also noted that it was a new job for both he and incoming CEO Ed Woodward, who took over for David Gill, which made the job doubly difficult.

    It may be that Man Utd fans and current players realize that Louis Van Gaal also has no magic wand to just "whoosh!" and will all things back to the heydays of life at the Theater with Sir Alex in charge. It just is not that easy. FC Chelsea seem ready to make a very big statement. And Manchester City seem just as hungry as the new season starts. So a David Moyes can quietly gather himself again, rest a bit, step back, recharge. For one, he will have clubs seeking his signature in the near future again. This is for certain. The other piece is that getting Man United back to the dominance of 3 - 4 years ago is no easy trick. Don't lose one's good composure. I think there were a lot of factors in last season that contributed to things than no new coach could control or stop.
