Tagliaferri, holdovers from the last cycle, will lead the U.S. under-17 women’s national team in action on its 10-day trip to South Korea that begins Monday. This will be the first
international trip for head coach
B.J. Snow's players at the U-17 level.
South Korea, winner of the 2008 U-17 Women’s World Cup, is one of
three Asian teams to win the U-17 championship along with North Korea (2006) and Japan (2014).
Two players each from Colorado Rush, So Cal Blues, the Michigan Hawks and Eagles are in the
squad. The age cut-off for the next U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2016, which is currently scheduled to be played in Jordan, is Jan. 1, 1999. Seventeen players on the roster are 1999s; three are
born in 2000.
