“That’s crazy,” Dike told FIFA.com when informed of the
record. “It all happened so fast, even for me, to be honest. They say it’s always good to test the opposing keeper early in a match, so I had a shot and it went
in.”
Dike, whose brother Bright attended Notre Dame and plays for Toronto FC, was Oklahoma State's top scorer in 2013 with 13 goals. The Edmond, Okla., product is one of
three Cowgirls on the All-Big 12 preseason team.
Since then, Asisat Oshoala scored the second fastest goal in the history of the tournament, after
32 seconds, in Nigeria's 4-1 win over New Zealand in the quarterfinals.
Congrats to my sister @CourtneyDike getting her first goal for Nigeria and the fastest U20 World Cup goal in history #DikeFamilyKillingIt
