As an added bonus, a split season should increase the quality of officiating. Currently the limited pool of referees has to service men's and women's college games plus boys and girls high school in lots of states.
A spring men's soccer season would result in a larger pool of available referees for these spring matches and would free up referees in the fall for women's matches and high school.
