Accent on youth as Green dresses for Bayern opener

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Julian Green dressed for only the second time with the Bayern Munich first team as the German champions opened the German Bundesliga season with a 2-1 win over Wolfsburg. The accent was on youth as Bayern coach Pep Guardiola dressed four teenagers, including 17-year-old Gianluca Gaudino, who stole the show with his work at playmaker. Gaudino's father, Maurizio, played for Germany.

After the MLS All-Star Game two weeks ago, Guardiola said the club would decide at the end of the month -- before the summer transfer deadline -- whether Green would stay with Bayern for the season or be loaned out.

Arjen Robben scored one goal and set up Thomas Mueller for the other as Bayern opened up a 2-0 lead. Mueller was one of four Bayern World Cup champions who started. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Jerome Boateng did not dress.

Lucas Scholl, the 18-year-old son of former German international Mehmet Scholl, also dressed. Dane Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, who just turned 19, came off the bench.
