Speaking ahead of his team’s first La Liga game of the season against Cordoba, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was forced to field countless questions about the futures of midfielder Sami Khedira and winger Angel Di Maria. The former wasn’t even in the country for Real’s 1-0 loss at Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup on Friday, while the latter is drawing ever closer to a reported 64 million pound ($106 million) move to Manchester United.
While Ancelotti acknowledged that Di Maria is on his way out, he reneged on comments made after Real’s Super Cup loss on Friday, when he said Khedira would be leaving, by saying: "Khedira is happy here and he is staying. The matter is resolved and he stays at Real Madrid." Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, among others, are said to be interested in the German World Cup winner.
