Algerian authorities have closed the stadium in Tizi Ouzou where a player was struck by an object thrown from the crowd on Saturday and subsequently died, the country's soccer federation said on Tuesday. Cameroon-born forward Albert Ebosse was struck on the head by an object allegedly thrown from a section of his club JS Kabylie's own fans as the players left the field at the end of a 2-1 defeat to USM Alger in Tizi Ouzou, a match in which he had scored his team's only goal. All games in Algeria have been subsequently cancelled this weekend as a sign of respect to the player.
