What They're Saying: Kristi Lefebvre

"Right now, we play multiple games in a 3-4 day span which makes it essential to use our bench. With only one game per week, that would mean using far less players. Which is totally fine. It just changes what the student-athlete experience is. Are we ready for that?"

So bring back JV teams to round out the student-athlete experience. That will provide the playing opportunities lost to a once a week schedule.

"we" may be ready for that, but coaches will not. Fewer games means more training. That much more training will necessitate Player Development, something most college coaches are unable to provide. To be fair, it will be a little late for most players by then anyway, but perhaps all those extra training hours will be directed towards improving IQ and game intelligence, not just "competing". We need fewer warriors and more smart, skilled players. I just don't see most college coaches being able to provide this without help from additional consultants/trainers they don't currently utilize.

I don't think that Now-adays college Coaches are as Inept as Previous Generations.. biggest problem with College Soccer is due to Squashed/condensed Playing Schedule AND Diluted Talent Pool..Especially Women players come off playing with Better Coaching and "SUPER" Teams, only to be mixed in with Lesser Quality players due to Over Surplus of Scholarships caused by Title IX.. Vermont Coaches is Correct... Gonna be a lot of Unhappy Female Players sitting the Bench...
