[ROUNDUP: Friday] No. 3 Virginia won its fourth straight win by shutout with a 3-0 victory at Alabama. Alexis Shaffer, Emily Sonnett and Danielle Colaprico scored for the Cavaliers.

TOP 25 ACTION. Sophomore Amber Munerlyn scored the third goal of her career to give No. 14 North Carolina a 1-0 win over No. 7 Penn State at the Duke Nike Classic. The goal was set up on a perfectly placed through ball by Joanna Boyles for the first assist of her career.

-- Karin Muya scored one goal and set up Morgan Andrews for a second as No. 18 Notre Dame won, 2-0, at No. 22 Santa Clara for the first time in more than a decade.

-- Clemson improved to 5-0-0 when it beat No. 11 South Carolina, 1-0, in front of a program-record 5,855 fans at Stone Stadium. The Tigers' lone goal was scored by freshman Shannon Horgan in the 21st minute. It was the first goal South Carolina's star goalkeeper, Sabrina D’Angelo, has allowed this season.

-- Hannah Devine connected on two early goals to lead No. 8 Texas Tech to a 3-1 win over Sam Houston State. The victory improved the Red Raiders' record to 4-0-0, marking only the fourth time in school history they've started with four wins.

 -- No. 10 California won its fifth straight game to start the season for the first time since 2000 when it downed St. Mary’s, 4-0, on the road.

-- No. 17 USC set a program record for most goals in a game with an 8-1 win over UC Riverside. Jamie Fink and Alex Quincey both tallied hat tricks, marking the first time the Women of Troy have ever had two players with a hat trick in one match.

CROWD COUNT. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi drew a program-record crowd of 1,908 for its 6-0 loss to Texas.
