Buffalo's Russell Cicerone
scored straight from the kickoff with a golden goal to start the second
overtime period and give the Bulls a 3-2 win over Bryant in men's college action. Fluke? Not entirely. There was some urgency to the sophomore's attempt and it paid off.
Severe storms had
entered the area, and there was the possibility of the game being halted so Cicerone decided to give it a go. Kristian Lee-Him
touched the ball to Nicolai Berry,
who left it for Cicerone to strike a bullet from 60 yards out past Bryant goalkeeper Chris Knaub
and off the
post for the Bulls' first victory of the season.
"Amazing players do amazing things and there's really no words to describe it," said Buffalo coach Stu
. "It was an absolutely incredible goal but we must remember this was a great team victory."
