MLS GAME PREVIEW (June 23): Metros vs. Los Angeles, again

Five days after the MetroStars, fielding the youngest lineup in league history, beat Los Angeles, 2-1, the teams meet again Wednesday evening.

The Metros, whose squad's average age was 22 years, 138 days -- seven regulars were unavailable because of international call-ups or injuries -- got the gamewinner from 19-year-old Mike Magee.

Los Angeles forward Carlos Ruiz, out almost a month with an ankle injury, could return to action tonight. On Sunday, Ruiz scored two goals and set up a third as Guatemala beat Suriname, 3-1, in a World Cup qualifying game that gave Guatemala passage to the semifinal round.

Ruiz has scored six goals and made two assists this MLS season.
