Jose Mourinho says he no longer has any relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo now that he has left Real Madrid. The Portuguese coach, now in charge of Chelsea, managed his compatriot for three seasons in Spain, and was credited with helping Ronaldo win the 2013 Ballon d’Or.
“The relationship does not exist,” Mourinho told Portuguese station TVI. “He plays for Real Madrid and I’m at Chelsea. We do not often pass each other on the street. The relationship doesn’t exist, it’s just a memory.”
Asked what he remembers about former Manchester United star, he said, “I remember the good and the not so good. I remember that he is a goal-machine, helped me to become a champion, to win the Copa del Rey and the Super Cup. I probably also helped him and each of us to make history in winning the league with 100 points against the best Barcelona side in history.”
