[ROUNDUP: Saturday] No. 2 UCLA defeated UC Santa Barbara, 1-0, on a goal by German star Leo Stolz from 18 yards in the 38th minute in front of 5,104 fans at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara.

Bruins goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. recorded his third straight shutout and fourth of the season, making four saves.

“We came to Santa Barbara to get a win and that’s exactly what we did,” said UCLA head coach Jorge Salcedo.  “From beginning to end we fought really hard, we made the plays we needed to make and we walked away with another great road victory.”

Senior Robert Kristo scored three minutes into overtime to propel No. 15 Saint Louis past No. 3 Creighton, 1-0, before 4,544 fans in Omaha. The Billikens, now 6-1-0, had defeated No. 5 Louisville two weeks ago.

“Obviously, very pleased after this one,” SLU head coach Mike McGinty said. “Creighton is a great team, we knew it was going to be hard. We stuck together and fought hard all night long, and we were rewarded with the win.”

SLU freshman keeper Sascha Otte made a career-high eight saves to earn his fourth shutout of the season.

-- No. 18 Coastal Carolina blew an early lead and fell at home to UAB, 2-1. Sergio Camargo gave Coastal the lead in the eighth minute, but Pachinno Roberts evened the score 11 minutes later with a header and the Blazers took the lead in the 34th minute on Freddy Ruiz's goal.
 
-- No. 19 Marquette set a program record with its fifth consecutive shutout, a 2-0 road win over Northern Illinois on goals by freshman Jack Alberts and sophomore Coco Navarro. Charlie Lyon has not conceded a goal in mote than 508 minutes.
