[ROUNDUP: Sunday] Senior
Sarah Killion tied a UCLA record with three assists in the
game to lead the No. 1 Bruins to a 4-1 win over Loyola Marymount and finish non-conference play with a 8-0-1 record.
Jessica Puchalski's goal gave Rutgers a 1-0
win over No. 21 Michigan in Big Ten play. San Diego is only 3-4-2 on the season, but all three wins have come against Top 25 teams. The latest: a 2-0 blanking of No. 21 Oklahoma.
Sam Mewis scored her team-leading seventh goal,
Zoey Goralski scored his first collegiate goal, and
Taylor Smith and
Rosie White added goals for the Bruins, who will enter Pac-12 play on
Friday at Arizona State.
"I think all-around, we played well," said UCLA coach
Amanda Cromwell. "We got a lot of players in the game, which
was important to us because we know down the line there are some players who aren't starters that need to have confidence when they get in there."
--
Jessica Puchalski's goal in the 64th minute gave Rutgers (6-1-0) a 1-0 win over No. 21 Michigan in Big Ten play. On Friday, the Scarlet Knights had
topped previously ranked Michigan State, 1-0.
“Michigan State and Michigan are two quality teams," said Rutgers head coach
Mike
O’Neill. “For us to come out of this weekend with two wins speaks volumes to the work they put in. It was a big weekend for the girls and a big weekend for the university.”
-- San Diego is only 3-4-2 on the season, but it knocked off its second consecutive ranked opponent, and third this season, with a 2-0 blanking of No. 21 Oklahoma at Torero Stadium.

half, while
