Zidane in Hot Water Over Coaching Licenses

Spain’s national soccer coaching center (CENAFE) on Tuesday denounced former France and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane for operating as a coach without possessing the necessary coaching licenses. The Frenchman, who was Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant at Real Madrid last season, is believed to be currently in charge of Real Madrid Castilla, its “B” team.

However, despite an official announcement naming him as head coach over the summer, Zidane appears as assistant coach on Real’s official Web site, with youth coach Santiago Sanchez named first. According to CENAFE, this is because Zidane does not have a license to coach in Spain’s third division.
